The Kids are Alright: Aaron Judge & Cody Bellinger

Image
By Patrick Zeng @ Roundtripper891 Much has been made about baseball's lack of star appeal. Even with players such as Mike Trout & Bryce Harper, it has been a struggle for baseball's best to gain traction for a national audience. And while this will always be somewhat of the case as baseball lends itself much more to a regional audience than a national one, two new stars may just break down that regional barrier. Cody Bellinger and Aaron Judge are lighting the baseball world on fire with their seasons thus far. Stationed in two of the largest media markets in the country, the two are set to make it big. At the end of last season, there seemed to be a hung jury on projecting the outlook of Aaron Judge. The 6'7" outfielder showed flashes of power, but struck out in 50% of his at bats compiling a .179 batting average. But this season has been nothing short of incredible for the towering right fielder. Judge has slugged his way to a major league leading 26 home run...

Red Alert: Salah's signing should signal new age in Merseyside

Image
By Patrick Zeng @ Roundtripper891 Late last week the worst keep secret in football finally was let out of the box. Mohammad Salah officially made his swap from Italian giants AS Roma to Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool. With a fee rumored of between £33 and £39 million, Salah's signature should only be the beginning to a busy summer for the Reds. Salah makes Klopp's attack more than formidable. When fully fit the reds attack was considered the "entertainers" of the league, knocking in a myriad of goals. Their fluidity and work rate should only increase with the addition of Salah. Mo mo as he's affectionately referred to by his fans, is a true right winger with a lethal left foot. His blistering pace paired with Liverpool's player of the year Sadie Mane should term their matches into track meets.                                                       ...

Hart Transplant: Josh Hart off to LA!

By Patrick Zeng @ Roundtripper891 For the first time since 2006 Villanova basketball has produced a first round NBA draft pick. That year, Nova's Randy Foye and Kyle Lowery both were taken at picks seven and twenty four, but in 2017 it's all about Hart. With the 30th pick, Josh Hart's wait was over and the Main Line mainstay is off to the Los Angeles Lakers. Hart joins Lonzo Ball, Kyle Kuzma and Thomas Bryant as Magic Johnson's first crop of draft picks as the new president of basketball operations in LA. Hart is coming off a stellar senior season in which he averaged 18.7 points per game, 6.4 rebounds and 2.9 assists while also taking home hardware as the Big East player of the year as well as the Big East co-defensive player of the year. Hart brings a winning pedigree to the Lakers as a member of the most successful class in Villanova history with two big east tournament victories as well as a national championship. Magic Johnson identified Hart's winning att...

By Patrick Zeng @ Roundtripper891 📸:www.hindustantimes.com With the champions already having etched their name in history as well as three sides already knowing their demise from the premier league is complete, only a final spot in the coveted top four is left to shake out on the final Sunday of the season. And this leads us into awards season for the most interesting and exciting league in Europe. Player of the Year- N'golo Kante Is there any other answer? No player has impacted the past two title races more than Kante. He is the engine in the midfield that makes Antonio Conte's three at the back formation tick so efficiently, covering more ground than any player in the league. Kante averaged 2.36 tackles per game as well as 2.45 interceptions. Add these to the fact he had 0 defensive errors that led to a goal and the product is a midfield general that commanded Chelsea to yet another title. Young Player of the Year- Dele Alli Dele Alli's meteoric rise has ...
